Congratulations to Paula Rodriguez, our latest Success Story! Paula is a Legal Assistant for the Law Office of Donald C. Turner, which is located in Roswell, Georgia.  She assists with transit violation cases  (DUI) in Cobb County.  She works mainly with Hispanic cases.  She never felt she would work in a Criminal Law firm, but she is enjoying it. Paula, what was your employment situation prior to finding your new job? I was an unemployed student. Which skills from your prior position helped you apply for and obtain your new position?   My research skills helped me, as well as my binlingual ability. How did you find out about your new position? I placed my resume on different web sites, and nothing happened.  Zero calls came from that.  It was with a friend that I got this job.  The lawyer saw my resume, was very interested in the fact that I speak Spanish and called me for an interview. How long had you been looking for a position before you found your current position? Three months Are there any specific job search strategies you would like to recommend to others? Yes, contact your friends and let them know about your goals and expectations.  This will work better than a web site. Paula, could you describe how your AIPS schooling impacted your ability to find this new position? My AIPS schooling gave me confidence and organization skills.
