Congratulations to Debbie Sinno, our latest Success Story!
Debbie was promoted to Client Manager - Travel Contracts for American Express Corporate Travel. Debbie works in Phoenix, Arizona and her job includes the following tasks: Currently, I am in charge of business travel contracts and drafting addendums. A part of my role that involves paralegal skills is contract enforcement, implementation, contract terminations and client management for middle marker client base. I work closely with our enforcement and compliance team.
Debbie, what was your employment situation prior to finding your new job? In my previous role, I worked with Amex card contracts.
Which skills from your prior positions helped you apply for and obtain your new position? Organizational, Communication, Analytical, Computer and Legal Research.
How did you find out about your new position; and how long had you been looking for a position? This was the internal job posting position. I was already with the company and was not looking. It was a good fit.
Are there any specific job search strategies you would like to recommend to others? Confidence in the value that you bring to the employer, and a good resume that highlights your skills well are important. Stephanie Brodin had some excellent tools and resources, as well as advice, that helped me a lot.
Debbie, could you describe how your AIPS schooling impacted your ability to find this new position? My legal knowledge and skills that I learned at AIPS were very important during the interview process in getting this position. Even though it is not strictly a legal/paralegal position, they preferred the person who had paralegal skills.
Debbie, do you have any other words of wisdom for us? It is important to have passion for your work and to love what you do. That is the road to success.
Thank you for sharing your story, Debbie!! We're proud of you!!
