To register to take the exam, send $25 to NFPA, 2517 Eastlake Ave East, Suite 200, Seattle, WA 98102 for a Candidates Handbook which includes an application, information on exam content, sample exam questions, and logistical information on taking the exam. The exam fee is $225. Once the application has been approved, the exam must be taken within 90 days. Be sure to consult the NFPA website for specifics on how to apply!  The website is www.paralegals.org. Most students have no problems registering for the exam or getting information from NFPA.  However....remember that NFPA is a bureaucracy and we all know how bureaucracies can be.  So, make sure that you read everything about registering for the exam carefully and ask questions early in the process.  There's nothing like finding out at the last minute that you need a certain form or some other bit of business to divert you from studying.   Also, you should know that we are not able to intercede on your behalf with NPFA.  Their contract is between you and them!  However, if you have problems, we want to know.  Maybe there's something we can do to help - at least we can try!
